Issue/Question
- Do retirees get to keep their ONID account, email and data?
- Can I continue to access OSU services such as Box, OneDrive, Zoom, etc. as a retiree?
Environment
- Oregon State University
- Retiree
- ONID
Explanation
No, retirees do not get to keep the account, email, or files they had while they were an employee. Retirees are also not eligible for services such as Box, Zoom, etc.
Retirees with 25 years of service are eligible for a retiree account with email, but this is a new account with none of the data or access the previous account had. The retiree email address is also different - it has the format username@retiree.oregonstate.edu.
The employee ONID account must be deleted before a retiree can sign up for a retiree account. Retirees will lose access to their email and data when their job ends. If you are retiring and have personal items stored in your account, please retrieve those items before your last work day.
To sign up for a retiree account, see: Retiree Email - Signing up
For a list of benefits that retirees are eligible for, see: https://hr.oregonstate.edu/benefits/current-employees/retirement/retiring-osu/staying-connected-osu
Exception: emeritus faculty do keep the ONID account they had before retiring. Emeritus are treated like current employees and maintain access to OSU services such as Box and Zoom.
