How to Use the Knowledge Base

Search Tips

The search box at the top-right of this site will search both the Knowledge Base and the Service Catalog.

To search only the Knowledge Base, click on the Search link above in the menu. You can restrict your search to a specific category from that menu as well.

Searching works best in this system if you use fewer search terms. For example, search for just "Email" instead of "How do I set up my email".

To restrict your search to more relevant items, try adding a tag such as #Windows10, for example:

Search: wireless #Windows10

You can do an exact match search on a phrase by placing it in quotation marks; you can also include a tag in a quoted search:

Providing Feedback

To provide feedback on articles, you will need to sign in first. Click the "Sign In" link in the upper-right corner and enter your ONID username and password on the OSU Login page.

To enter feedback on an article, scroll to the bottom of the page and choose "Yes" or "No" next to "Was this helpful?" You will also be able to enter a comment.

If you do not have an ONID account and would like to provide feedback on a KB article, please use the general help request form.

Staff at the Service Desk will periodically review all feedback and make updates as needed. We appreciate customers pointing out incorrect or missing information. Thank you!
