OSU Gmail - Setup Gmail in Windows Mail App

Caution: Starting November 1, 2022, all new ONID accounts - including students - will be created with Exchange email and not Gmail.


  • How do I access my OSU Gmail in the Windows Mail app?

  1. Open Windows Mail
  2. Click on the Settings icon that looks like a gear
  3. Select "Manage accounts" from the settings on the right
  4. Select "+ Add account"
  5. Select "Google"
  6. In the "Email or phone" menu, enter your username@oregonstate.edu and click "Next"
  7. Sign in on the Oregon State University login page with your username and password
    • You will need to Duo auth when prompted
  8. You will see a window that says "Windows wants to access your Google Account"; select "Allow"
  9. On the "Remember sign-in info" screen, select "Yes" if you want Windows Mail to save your username and password
  10. On the "All done" screen, select "Done"
