Exchange Online - New Outlook on the Web


With the migration to Exchange Online comes a complete revamp of Outlook on the Web. The new Outlook on  the Web is located at a different web address and aims to provide a more streamlined interface with new features. This article details some of the most important differences.

How to Access the New Outlook on the Web

If your mailbox has been migrated to Exchange Online (EOL), OSU's Outlook Web App (OWA) portal shows the following message after logging in: 

The old site prompts to use a different link for logging into the Exchange Online webmail app - we recommend updating your bookmark: 

Please note: If you have not yet been migrated to Exchange Online, you will get the following message on the new OWA site: "We couldn't find a mailbox for this recipient. Either they don't have a mailbox or don't have a license assigned." Use the link instead. 

Signing In to OWA

  • When student employees are prompted to log in to Microsoft Federation Services make sure to log in the "se-UserName" account.

Immersive Reader

A part of Microsoft's Learning Tools, the Immersive Reader is a special reading view that aims to enhance and aid with text readability in a web browser. Users can:

  • Have Outlook on the Web read text aloud to them
  • Manipulate font size and spacing to improve reading fluency
  • Change the color of background and text to improve visibility
  • Break words into syllables to enhance word recognition
