Using OSU Online Directory with Outlook for Windows


How do I make the OSU Online Directory the Default Address book in Outlook?


  • Employee or Student
  • Outlook for Windows in IMAP mode

Note: These steps are specific to clients accessing email in Outlook via IMAP; when Outlook is configured to connect to email via the usual Exchange method, there is no need to configure the directory separately.


  1. Click on the Address Book icon at the top of your Outlook window.
  2. In the Address Book window, click on the Tools menu and choose Options....
  3. Select from the Show this address list first: drop-down list.
  4. Under When sending mail, check names using these address lists in the following order: click on and move it to the top of the list by clicking the Up Arrow button.
  5. Click the OK button.
