  • How do I forget the Eduroam wireless network on my Apple computer?

Environment

  • Oregon State University
  • Wireless Network
  • OSU_Secure or Eduroam
  • MacOS

Cause/Explanation

If your connection to OSU_Secure or Eduroam has stopped working, the most common cause is that your ONID password was recently changed.

Regardless of the cause of the issue, "forgetting" a wireless network allows you to set up the connection again and can resolve many issues.

Resolution

  1. Click the wireless icon in the top right corner, click on "Open Network Preferences." List of available networks with "Open Network Preferences" highlighted.

  2. A new window will appear. Click "Wi-Fi" on the left, and then click "Advanced." "Advanced" option highlighted in Wi-Fi settings.

  3. Click on the network you wish to forget, such as "OSU_Secure" or "Eduroam."

  4. Click the minus sign and then click "OK". Shows "OSU_Secure" highlighted and an arrow pointing to the minus sign.

  5. Your computer's saved profile for the OSU_Secure or Eduroam network will now be removed.
  6. You can now try to connect to the Eduroam wireless network and your computer will treat this as a new connection.
