Question

  • I am an undergraduate student employee and my ONID account has been granted permissions to a shared Exchange mailbox. How do I access it?
  • I don't have an Exchange mailbox (a first.last address) on my ONID account, but I have been granted permissions to a shared Exchange mailbox. How do I access it?

Note: If you already have an Exchange mailbox (a first.last address) please see this knowledge base article instead: Add an Additional Mailbox in Outlook

Environment

  • Student Employee, or other non-Exchange-enabled account holder

Resolution

Method 1 - Use Outlook Web App

  2. Enter your username and password when prompted
    • Note: enter your username as username@oregonstate.edu
  3. Bookmark the web address for easy access in the future

  5. If you are logged into Windows with your ONID account, Outlook will authenticate you with that username and password; otherwise you will be prompted to enter your ONID username and password
    • Note: enter your username as username@oregonstate.edu
  6. A pop-up notice may warn you that you will need to restart Outlook for the changes to take effect; press OK
  7. Click finish when you see "Congratulations!"

Outlook 2016 for Mac
