CN - Windows - "Switch User" Option Disabled

Issue/Question

• I can't switch users in Windows.

Environment

• Oregon State University
• Community Network 
• Windows 10

Explanation

Some applications - such as Cisco Anyconnect VPN client - disable "fast user switching" in Windows. Follow the steps below to re-enable it.

Resolution

Method 1

1. Press the Windows key
2. Type: gpedit.msc
3. Right-click on gpedit.msc and select "Run as administrator"
4. Enter administrator credentials if prompted
5. Browse to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Logon
6. Double click on "Hide entry points for Fast User Switching"
7. Select "Disabled" to turn on fast user switching
8. Click OK
9. Close gpedit.msc
