Gmail - Set How My Name Appears

• How do I set how my name appears on messages I send from Gmail?

Environment

• Oregon State University
• G Suite
• Gmail

Explanation

By default, your name will appear in the OSU Gmail instance the same way it appears in OSU's system of record, Banner. However, you can customize how your name appears in Gmail.

Resolution

1. Browse to http://oregonstate.edu/google
2. Select "Login to G Suite" and click on the Gmail icon 
3. If prompted, login with your ONID username and password
4. In the upper-right, click the gear icon and select Settings 
5. Select the Accounts tab
6. In the section labeled "Send mail as" click on edit info 
7. In the pop-up window, enter your name as you would like it to appear 
8. Click Save Changes
