Resolution

Use Teams on the Web

  1. In a web browser, visit teams.oregonstate.edu
  2. Select "Log in to Teams"
  3. Enter username@oregonstate.edu and click "Next"
  4. Enter your password when prompted
  5. Login to Duo when prompted
  6. If you see a message saying "Download the Teams desktop app" select "Use the web app instead"

Note that video calling is not supported in the Teams web app.

Install the Teams App for Linux

These steps were tested on Ubuntu 20.04.2.

  1. Visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app
  2. Select "Download for desktop"
  3. Select "Linux DEB (64-bit)"
  4. Choose to save the file when prompted
  5. Open a terminal window and enter the following commands:
    cd Downloads
    sudo dpkg -i teams_1.4.00.13653_amd64.deb
