ONID - Access ONID Home Folder via Cyberduck on Mac

How to get to your ONID Drive if your Mac computer is not on the OSU network, cannot utilize the Oregon State VPN, or the On Campus instructions simply do not work for you.

Explanation

Cyberduck is a good program to transfer files. Cyberduck is available at http://cyberduck.ch/

Resolution

  1. Start Cyberduck
  2. Click on Open Connection
  3. Choose "SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)" from the Protocol: drop-down list
  4. Server: should be set to "shell.onid.oregonstate.edu"
    • Set the server name to a different OSU server if needed
  5. Username: should be your ONID username
  6. Password: should be your ONID password
  7. Click the Connect button
  8. Provide additional (DUO) login credentials
    1. Either press 1 to send a DUO push or enter in DUO passcode to continue
  9. If you get a pop-up window saying "Unknown host key for shell.onid.oregonstate.edu", click the Always button
  10. You will see a listing of files and directories from your ONID home directory. To transfer a file or directory, simply drag-and-drop the item to or from your Mac.

To close your connection, click the Disconnect button.
