Issue/Question
- How do I connect to OSU_Secure on an Android device?
- How do I connect to OSU_Secure on a Chromebook?
Environment
- Oregon State University
- Wireless Network
- OSU_Secure
Resolution
- Navigate to your device Settings and look for "WiFi". Note: As OS is updated some menu items may change.
- Select "OSU_Secure" from the list of WiFi networks.
- Set the settings that are available. Some OS's may be slightly different depending on the device and the version.
- Make sure EAP method is set to PEAP.
- Enter your ONID username into the identity box in the format "username@oregonstate.edu".
- Enter your ONID password into the password box.
- Phase 2 authentication should be set to MSCHAPv2
- Set CA certificate to Use System Certificates
- Enter "oregonstate.edu" in the domain field
- If prompted to select Online Certificate Status or something similar, please select "Do not validate"
- Your layout may be different from phone model to phone model or for a Chromebook.
- Double Check
- Some devices ask for a CA certificate when trying to connect. If yours does, please select "Use System Certificates"
- Some devices require a domain to be specified. If you run into this type "oregonstate.edu" in the domain field.
- Select "Connect" to connect to wifi.
