Explanation

beav.es is a handy tool that allows authenticated OSU users to create short URLs for their university-related needs.

Resolution

Basic Short URL

1. To use the shortener, go to beav.es, and login with you ONID account.
   • You will also be prompted to do Duo two-step login.
2. Once logged in you can copy and paste your long URL into the indicated field.
3. When you're done, press the Shrink it! button and your short URL will be created

Custom Short URL

The above steps will create a randomly generated short URL. If you would like to create a custom URL (e.g. beav.es/help), follow these steps:

1. Browse to beav.es, and login with you ONID account
   • You will also be prompted to do Duo two-step login
2. Click on the "custom short URL" option at the top of the page
3. Fill out the form and click Submit
   
4. Your request will be reviewed by Web Communications
5. To request a change to the target of a custom short URL, please submit the request form again
