Resolution
Confirm Microsoft 365 Apps Eligibility
- First, make sure you are signed into Microsoft 365 correctly with your OSU username@oregonstate.edu account:
- In Word (for example), click on "Sign in" in the upper right
- Enter your username as username@oregonstate.edu and click Next
- Check your Microsoft 365 license:
- Visit https://portal.office.com/account/#installs
- If prompted, login as: username@oregonstate.edu
- If you see the message "You currently have not been assigned an office license that includes the Office desktop apps" this means that you are not eligible for Microsoft 365 Apps.
- If you see "Office" listed with an "Install Office" button, you are eligible for Microsoft 365 Apps.
- Review eligibility requirements:
- Students: you must be registered for at least one course in the current term or a future term in order to install Office apps from Microsoft 365.
- If you just registered for classes today, please wait until the following day to try installing Office apps.
- If you are not registered for classes, you need to do so in order to be eligible to install Office apps.
- Employees: you must have a currently active job at OSU in order to install Office apps from Microsoft 365.
- If you are unsure whether you have an active job at OSU, please contact Human Resources to confirm.
- Associates: associates are NOT eligible for the Microsoft 365 Apps license and cannot install Office apps from Office 365.
