Cause/Explanation
The purpose of this knowledge base article is to help answer questions pertaining to the differences between the enhanced user experience and the standard user experience when leveraging Zoom and a room system (Cisco/Polycom or Zoom Room). This KB will include the high-level view of the steps involved in both scenarios.
Resolution
- Configure Exchange Resource per Zoom's specifications (https://oregonstate.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/KB/ArticleDet?ID=84859)
- Schedule a Zoom meeting in Outlook
- When scheduling, invite the room with Cisco/Polycom equipment as a meeting attendee
- Send the Zoom Outlook meeting
- At the date/time of the meeting, enter the room and locate the Cisco/Polycom touch panel (or remote)
- Your meeting should be listed on the display of the Cisco/Polycom touch panel (or TV screen)
- On the touch panel (or screen using remote) select the JOIN MEETING button next to your meeting title
- You'll then be connected into the Zoom meeting
- Schedule a Zoom meeting in Outlook/Desktop App/Website
- Save/Send Zoom meeting information
- At the date/time of the meeting, enter the room and locate the Cisco/Polycom touch panel (or remote)
- On the touch panel, select "Zoom" from the Contacts (Favorites) and press call
Note: If Zoom is not in the Contacts, enter 162.255.37.11 and press call
- When prompted, enter the appropriate Zoom Meeting ID, followed by #
Note: If a host key is required, you will be prompted to enter your Host Key, followed by # (after entering your Meeting ID and #)
- You'll then be connected into the Zoom meeting
