ONID - Map ONID Home Folder on Windows

Explanation:

These instructions are for connecting your Windows computer to a Network Drive if your Windows computer is on the OSU network or VPN.

Requirements:

  • A Windows computer
  • An OSU network connection or VPN
  • Permissions to access to a network drive

Steps:

  1. Navigate to "My Computer" or "This PC", depending on your version of Windows.
  2. Find the option that says "Map network drive" at the top.
    You may need to press alt to display the "Computer" tab
  3. For the drive letter, choose a letter of your choice.
  4. For the Folder, enter the Network drive location
    1. For your ONID Home Directory, use "\\onid-fs.onid.oregonstate.edu\username" without quotes and replace "username" with your ONID username.
    2. For additional network drives, consult the Network Drive List.
  5. Check the box for "Connect using different credentials" so you can sign in with your ONID account.
    You can also check the box  ""Reconnect at sign-in" if you would like to have this drive show up each time you sign in
  6. Enter your ONID username and password in the popup window.
    Your username will need to be in the format "ONID\username".

Your drive should be configured so that you can browse the files.
