Using OSU Online Directory with Microsoft Mail

Question

  • How do I configure Windows Mail to use the OSU Online Directory?

Environment

  • Employee or Student
  • Windows Mail client

Resolution

  1. Open Windows Mail.
  2. Click on the Tools menu and choose Accounts....
  3. Click Add then choose Directory Service.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Type directory.oregonstate.edu in the Internet Directory (LDAP) server field.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Select Yes to Do you want to check addresses using this directory service? 
  8. Click Next.
  9. Select directory.oregonstate.edu, and click the Properties button.
  10. Click on the Advanced tab.
  11. In the Search base field type o=orst.edu.
  12. Click OK.
  13. Close the Internet Accounts window.
