OSU Colors: Adding them to Microsoft Word

Resolution

In order to get OSU fonts and OSU colors, they will need to be requested. For OSU fonts, see: Oregon State University Fonts

To get access to OSU colors, please visit this page; note that the download option at the bottom of the page directs to a box page: https://communications.oregonstate.edu/brand-guide/visual-identity/colors

Mac OS

Note: You may need to show hidden folders to access this folder. (CTRL + Shift + .)

  1. Download the data file from Box.
  2. From Finder, select the 'Go' menu at the top of the screen, and choose 'Go to Folder'.
  3. In the window that opens, enter `/Library, and click 'Go'.
  4. In the Mac OS Finder, the location is in /Users/YOURNAME/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/User Templates/My Themes/Theme Colors
    OR in /Users/YOURNAME/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/User Templates/My Themes/Theme Colors.
  5. Copy the downloaded file into the data path from the previous step.
  6. Done. To test, follow the steps in this short video: http://blogs.oregonstate.edu/marketing/2017/10/26/osu-brand-tip-theme-colors-microsoft-office/.

Windows 10

Note: You may need to show hidden folders to access this folder.

  1. Download the data file from Box.
  2. From File Explorer, go to the View tab and check the box for 'Hidden items'
  3. Navigate to C:/Users/YOURNAME/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Templates/Document Themes/Theme Colors
  4. Paste or move the data file downloaded from Box into the file path navigated to in the previous step.
  5. Done. To test, follow the steps in this short video: http://blogs.oregonstate.edu/marketing/2017/10/26/osu-brand-tip-theme-colors-microsoft-office/.
