Cause/Explanation
Names on ONID accounts are set as they appear in our system of record, Banner.
You can make some changes to your name as it appears in ONID without changing your name in Banner. Changing your ONID name format will effect systems connected to ONID, including:
- OSU Online Directory
- OSU Email
- G Suite
- Office365
- Zoom
- Box.

Caution: The ONID tool to change a forgotten password requires you to enter your first and last name. If you use that tool, you will need to enter your name in the same format that you have set in ONID, not what is listed in Banner.

Resolution
To set your name format in ONID:
- Go to http://onid.oregonstate.edu
- Click on "Manage my ONID"
- Login with your current ONID credentials
- You will need to perform a Duo Authentication on the next page, if you are correctly enrolled
- Choose from the available options and click on "Set Name Format" to save the change
Note: if you do not have a middle name in the system, you will not see the option to select "Middle Last".
