Issue: Canvas - Courses Not Displaying on Dashboard in Safari

Issue/Question

• In Safari, my Canvas courses are not displaying on the dashboard. They show as grey boxes.

Environment

• Oregon State University
• Canvas
• MacOS
• Safari

Cause/Explanation

This issue is caused by accessing Canvas via an older macOS or outdated version of Safari. Review the browser and computer requirements for Canvas.

Resolution

Method 1

Update Safari to the latest version. 

Note that you may also need to update the Mac operating system if it is no longer supported. Learn more about macOS versions.

Method 2

Use a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox.
