Issue/Question
- Students get errors when trying to book with me via Bookings
- Why can't students access / view my Bookings page to schedule appointments with me?
Environment
- Oregon State University
- OSU Employees
- MS Bookings
Explanation
This issue arises when users have the setting of "Available to people in my organization" or "Require a Microsoft 365 or Office 365 account from my organization to book" enabled.
Students may see they need to login, and either a) be logged in with a different MS or Office account and not realize they need to be logged into their ONID credentials, b) not realize they need to use their ONID credentials and sign in with a different MS or Office account, or c) see that they need to login and stop there without trying to login with their ONID. All of these result in the student not being able to access the Bookings page to schedule their appointment.
Resolution
Make Booking Page Available to Anyone
- Visit https://uit.oregonstate.edu/bookings and select "Login to Bookings"
- Sign in as username@oregonstate.edu if prompted
- Select the appropriate Bookings calendar if not already selected
- Select "Booking page"
- Under "Configure booking page," click the drop-down and select "Available to anyone"
- Click "Save" near the top
Note: If "Try the new bookings" is turned off in the upper-right, the steps are slightly different:
- Select "Booking page"
- Under "Booking page access control" uncheck the box for "Require a Microsoft 365 or Office 365 account from my organization to book"
- Click "Save and publish" near the top
