Mailman - Change List Member Settings

Mailman sets a unique password per list subscriber per list. By default, these passwords can be sent via email and allow list members to sign in to the web interface and set subscriber settings like "nomail" and "digest" mode.

However, as of May 11, 2021, all of the Mailman features that send a list password via email have been disabled for security reasons.


Contact the List Owner

To change your subscriber settings on a Mailman list, contact the list owner.

If you do not know who the list owner is, you can find the owner(s) by following these steps:

  1. Visit
  2. Enter the name of the list and select "Go to list"
  3. At the bottom of the page, you will see "<Listname> list run by <owner address>"

Alternatively, you can send to the following address, replacing <listname> with the name of the list: <listname>
