MS Teams - Can't Add Reaction to Message During a Meeting

• Why can't I add a reaction (smile, heart, etc.) to a message?

• Oregon State University
• Microsoft Teams

Explanation

In some cases, reactions to a message don't work. This specific case is while you are part of a Teams meeting, and unable to add the reaction within the desktop Teams "Chat" area.

Resolution

1. Within the current / active Teams meeting, open the chat from the "chat bubble" at the top
2. Hover over a message.
3. Add your reaction to the message.
