Kaltura Capture Tool - Troubleshooting Recording on Mac

Overview

Kaltura is Oregon State University's video platform. Kaltura Capture is a powerful screen recording tool for Windows and Mac available to everyone at Oregon State University. Kaltura Capture cannot be installed on Chrome OS, Android, or iOS/iPadOS.

Kaltura Capture offers enhanced screen recording functionality such as chaptering, bookmarking, and textscrapping. A Kaltura Capture recording will include chapters and bookmarks for slide transitions in a presentation, and will read the text in presentation slides and turn that into searchable text. If the user does not require these enhanced functions, other recording tools are available and supported at OSU.

Users who want to perform a webcam recording on their mobile device can simply use the built-in camera software. Windows 10 also has a built-in webcam recorder, the Camera app. Kaltura also provides an in-browser webcam recorder on Mac and Windows. Kaltura Capture is best suited for screen recordings on Mac and Windows.
