- How do I change the name of a Mailman list?

Explanation
Unfortunately, it is not trivial to change a Mailman list name, because the name is embedded in system files.
Resolution
We generally recommend creating a new list, copying the settings, and copying the membership over. Then the old list can be deleted.
One caveat is that the former list archive will be lost with this change (if archiving is enabled).
