MS Teams - Channel Calendar Does Not Work - "Your calendar needs setting up"

Issue/Question

  • I can't see the calendar in a Teams channel
  • When I click on the channel calendar, I see the message "Your calendar needs setting up. Ask your admin to connect your Exchange calendar to Teams." 
     

Environment

  • Oregon State University
  • Microsoft Teams

Explanation

Teams channel calendar functionality depends on access to Exchange Online email. The channel calendar feature will not work for OSU students and others who do not have an Exchange mailbox.

Resolution

There is no resolution or work-around to this issue at this time.

However, the university is moving all ONID accounts to Exchange email by end of Summer 2023. This issue will be resolved by the move to Exchange email.
