Wireless - Connect to Eduroam on Android

  • How do I connect to eduroam on an Android device?

  • Wireless Network
  • Eduroam
  • Android

Resolution

Note: Android devices and versions vary greatly. These instructions may vary, but the steps should be similar. 

  1. Open Settings. 
  2. Select "Wi-Fi."  
  3. Enter wireless configuration as follows:
    1. SSID: eduroam
    2. Security: WPA2 Enterprise (Or 802.1x EAP)
    3. EAP Method: PEAP (PEAPv0 / EAP-MSCHAPv2)
    4. Key Type: AES (or automatic)
    5. Phase2 Type: MSCHAPv2
    6. Username/Identity: ONIDusername@oregonstate.edu
    7. Password: ONID Password
  4. Some Android devices ask for a certificate when trying to connect. If yours does, please select "use system certificate" and enter "oregonstate.edu" as the domain. For Android 11 please use the following settings:
    1. SSID: eduroam
    2. Security: WPA2 Enterprise (Or 802.1x EAP)
    3. EAP Method: PEAP (PEAPv0 / EAP-MSCHAPv2)
    4. Key Type: AES (or automatic)
    5. Phase2 Type: MSCHAPv2
    6. CA Certificate Type: Use System Certificates 
    7. Domain: oregonstate.edu
    8. Username/Identity: ONIDusername@oregonstate.edu
    9. Password: ONID Password
