Headset - Savi 7xx General Help (Internal)

Issue/Question

Cause/Explanation

The Plantronics Savi 7xx headsets can be used to make phone calls, connect to Bluetooth devices, and listen to content on your computer.

Resolution

Using the Headset for Phone Calls

1. Unplug the headset from the dock.
2. Press the teardrop shaped button on the side of your headset to open a new line.
3. Use the phone as you would normally.
4. If you don't hear the active line sound when you open the line, you may be on the wrong channel on the dock.  Press the top right button on the dock that is just above the image of a land line telephone so that the light below it is green.

Using the Headset for Bluetooth

1. To connect your headset to your bluetooth, press and hold the Bluetooth button on the Dock.
2. Once the button starts flashing magenta and blue, open your Bluetooth device and find the Savi 7xx.
3. Connect to the Savi 7xx device.
4. To hear audio from your bluetooth, the second button with the green light will need to be on, and the Bluetooth icon needs to be bright blue on the dock.

Using the Headset for Zoom/Computer Audio and Voice

1. Plug the Dock into your computer using a MicroUSB to USB cable.
2. The computer should automatically detect the device.  You may need to change your default device to the Savi 7xx.
3. To hear and send audio through your computer, the light under the computer icon button on the dock needs to be green.  If it is not green, press it.

Pairing Two Savi 72xx Headsets

1. Open phone line on the primary headset.
2. Place the secondary headset on the primary headset's phone dock. (Note: Ensure the secondary headset is on by setting the toggle on the bottom of the headset to the "green" position)
3. Wait till you hear 3 beeps on the primary headset to signal the pairing.
4. On the primary headset press the "open/close line" button twice.
5. Remove the secondary headset from the phone dock.
6. (Optional) Mute the secondary headset by pushing the red trapezoid button on the bottom of the headset. You should hear a bunch of beeps and then you will be muted.

Troubleshooting

If the headset stops working, try putting it back in the cradle and letting it charge. The indicator light on the right of the cradle should light up when the headset is plugged in.

If the indicator light does not light up, try the following:

1. Find the rubber cover to the battery compartment, on the headset, and gently open it.
2. Carefully remove the battery - you may want to use a pen or something else narrow to ease it out of the compartment.
3. Disconnect and reconnect the battery.
4. Replace the battery, close the rubber cover, and replace the headset on the cradle.
5. If the headset still won't charge, try a battery from a known working headset. If that works, the battery needs to be replaced. If it's still not working, see if the headset can be replaced under warranty.
