Cause/Explanation
The security levels address matters of data integrity, availability, and confidentiality. Each level has corresponding security requirements that are informed by University policy. Additionally, recommendations for a security plan are included and applicable to both paper and electronic records.

Security levels:
There are three types of data security level. Depending on your study, you will need to contact the Human Research Protection Program to categorize your data and help you with recommended actions.

Oregon State University has the Office of Information Security to help with data security. You will need to contact the Office of Information Security with the Data security plans for systems storing data.
