MS Teams - Invite Members to a Team

Issue/Question

• How do I invite members to a team in Teams?

Environment

• Oregon State University
• Microsoft Teams

Explanation

Note that only the team owner can perform the steps below.

Resolution

Add Members

1. In Teams, right-click on the team name and choose "Manage Team"
2. Select "Add member"
3. Enter the person's name and select them from the list of names that pops up
4. Click "Add"
5. When finished adding members, click "Close"

Send a Link

1. In Teams, right-click on the team name and choose "Get link to team"
2. Click "Copy" to copy the URL to your clipboard
3. Email the link to the people you want to invite

Create a Code

1. In Teams, right-click on the team name and choose "Manage Team"
2. Select the "Settings" tab
3. Expand the "Team code" menu
4. Click "Generate"
5. Copy the code and send it to people you want to invite

To join with a code:

1. In Teams, select "Join or create a team"
2. Enter the code and select "Join team"
