Issue/Question
- How do I mark an email as "not junk" in Outlook on the web?
- How can I move a message out of the junk mail folder?
Environment
Cause/Explanation
One of the many security features of Oregon State University's e-mail systems is the robust anti-spam and anti-junk e-mail features. These features help reduce the amount of junk mail that appears in your inbox. This can result in some false positives, and valid email ending up in the junk mail folder.
Resolution
Method 1
- Log into Outlook on the web
- Go to the junk mail folder
- Find the message to move to the Inbox
- Right click on the message, click "mark as not junk"
- If you want to help Microsoft with their junk mail processing, click "report".
Method 2
- Log into Outlook on the web
- Go to the junk mail folder
- Find the message to move to the Inbox
- Drag and drop it to the Inbox.
Both of these methods will add the email address to the "Safe Senders" list.
