Resolution

NOTE: These steps require an iLok in order to license the software. Please contact MediaHub to obtain an iLok
If connecting from off campus, make sure to connect to the Campus VPN in order to access the software server.

Mac

  1. Open Finder and select "Go -> Connect to Server".
  2. Enter "smb://software.oregonstate.edu/software" and click "Connect".
    1. If prompted for a login, enter "ONID\[Your ONID Username]" for the usernname and your ONID password for the password.
  3. Find the Pro Tools folder.
  4. Find the Mac folder and copy the Pro Tools and HD_Driver DMGs file to your computer.
  5. Double click on the ProTools DMG to run the installer.
  6. Double click on "Install Pro Tools".
  7. Follow the steps to finish the installation.
  8. Double click on the HD_Driver DMG and run through the install steps.
  9. Once both are installed, make sure the iLok is plugged into one of the USB ports on the computer.
  10. Run Pro Tools.
  11. Install any additional addons found in the \\software folder as needed.

Windows

  1. Open Windows file explorer and enter \\software.oregonstate.edu\software into the address bar.
    1. If prompted for a username and password, enter "ONID\[Your ONID Username]" for the username and your ONID password for the password.
  2. Find the Pro Tools folder.
  3. Find the Windows folder and copy the Pro Tools ZIP folder to your computer.
  4. Extract the folder.
  5. Double click on setup.exe.
  6. Follow the steps to finish the installation. This can take a while to finish the whole installation process.
  7. Once installed, make sure the iLok is plugged into one of the USB ports on the computer.
  8. Run Pro Tools.
  9. IMPORTANT: If using an internal soundcard/getting a message that says "Unable to locate hardware", install the ASIO4All installer in the Protools folder so Protools can use your soundcard.
