How to change the default browser for hyperlinks in Outlook

  • How do I configure Outlook to open hyperlinks with my default web browser rather than opening with Edge?

Explanation

Microsoft recently made a change to Outlook where Microsoft Edge is the default browser to open hyperlinks in Outlook.  Use the instructions below to change this setting back to your default web browser.

Resolution

Method 1

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click File > Options > Advanced > File and browser preferences
  3. Set the Open hyperlinks from Outlook drop-down to Default Browser
  4. Click OK
