License Restrictions
EndNote is free for students for classwork usage. Factulty/staff and students using EndNote for work purposes must purchase a license for $105. The EndNote license is good for up to three computers simultaneously.

Install Steps
If installing from off campus, make sure to connect to the VPN before proceeding.
Windows
- Open Windows file explorer and enter \\software.oregonstate.edu\software into the address bar.
- If prompted for a username and password, enter "ONID\[Your ONID Username]" for the username and your ONID password for the password.
- Find the EndNote folder with the desired version and for Windows (X8, X9, or 20).
- Copy the folder to your desktop and run the installer as an administrator (right click -> run as admin). This folder contains both the installer and the license info.
- The next page should show info about OSU's volume license - click "Accept".
- Click next and accept the license agreement.
- Select typical or custom install - most users will be fine with selecting typical.
- Select the destination folder (usually fine to leave this at the default path).
- Click next and EndNote will start installing.
- Download any available updates when prompted when opening EndNote.
MacOS
- Open Finder and select "Go -> Connect to Server".
- Enter "smb://software.oregonstate.edu/software" and click "Connect".
- If prompted for a login, enter "ONID\[Your ONID Username]" for the username and your ONID password for the password.
- Find the EndNote folder and find the desired version of EndNote for Mac (X8, X9, or 20).
- Copy the selected folder to the desktop. This folder contains both the installer and the license info.
- Run the .DMG installer.
- Double click to start the install.
- Click "Install" on the next window.
- When prompted for a product key, find the text file with the keys in the EndNote folder.
- Enter your name and Oregon State University on the next screen.
- Finish the installer and download any available updates that are available.
