License Restrictions
S-PLUS is available for free for all current students, faculty, and staff on both personally owned and university owned devices for use in education and non-commercial research.
Resolution
If connecting from off campus, make sure to connect to the Campus VPN in order to access the software server.
Windows
- Open Windows File Explorer and enter \\software.oregonstate.edu\software into the address bar.
- If prompted for a login, use "ONID\[Your ONID Username]" for the username and your ONID password for the password.
- Navigate to S-PLUS -> Windows.
- Copy the version of S-PLUS you wish to use to your computer.
- For 8.2, open the Spotfire 8.2.0 folder and run "S-Plus 64bit.exe" as an administrator (right click -> run as admin).
NOTE: Older versions have a different folder path. Find the setup.exe application in those folders to start the install.
- Click next to start the installation.
- Enter your ONID username and Oregon State University in the company field.
- Read the license agreement and click accept -> next when finished.
- Do this again for the next page of the license agreement.
- Choose "Complete" for install type, then click next.
- Unless necessary to change the install directory for TIBCO, click next.
- Do this again for Spotfire S+.
- Select the options to personalize for startup, the click next.
- When prompted, click finish to finalize the installation process.
- Click finish once completed.
Linux/Solaris
- Navigate to \\software.oregonstate.edu\software
- If prompted for a login, use "ONID\[Your ONID Username]" for the username and your ONID password for the password.
- Find the S-PLUS folder and your OS.
