Available for OSU faculty, staff and students on institutional or personally-owned devices or computers solely for use in educational purposes.*

* “Educational Purposes” use does NOT include commercial, professional or any for-profit purposes; including use by Facilities, Capital Planning etc.  Such licenses must be purchased individually by departments from:  http://www.autodesk.com/store or an authorized reseller.

From Autodesk's website:

  • Educational access to software and services may be used only for purposes directly related to learning, teaching, training, research, and development. They may not be used for commercial, professional, or any other for-profit purposes.
  • It's OK to use educational access to software and services to design, create, and mentor entries in Autodesk-sponsored design competitions. For more information, see Who is eligible?

Uses not permitted for educational access include:

  • Facilities use: Designing, constructing, and maintaining an educational institution's campus physical structures and infrastructure is not permitted.
    Exception: An educational institution may continue to use those specific versions of the software for facilities use if such use was previously granted in a license agreement or a separate agreement.
  • Research: Research conducted by any commercial programs or entities operated by or affiliated with the educational institution for a commercial purpose is not permitted.
    Exception: Academic research conducted and published by students or faculty as part of the educational institution's accredited educational programs is permitted.

Resolution

Method 1 (Students and Staff/Faculty)

  1. Navigate to http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/all.
  2.  Click on "sign in" in the top right-hand corner.
  3. Sign in with your AutoDesk account. Create an account if one doesn't exist already.
  4. Once logged in, the available free software will be listed.
  5. Click on the desired software and follow the steps to download the installer and get a license key.

Method 2 (Staff/Faculty)

  1. Staff/faculty looking to get the non-student version can contact OSU.Software@oregonstate.edu to request access.
