Citrix Workspace - Troubleshooting Across All Platforms

Issue/Question

  • Citrix app on Windows/MacOS/Linux/IOS is not functioning correctly.

Environment

Resolution

Note: Regarding MIME EECS Remote DesktopEngineering users must set up a TEACH account before they can access the MIME desktop in Citrix. If the customer is experiencing difficulty with "MIME EECS Remote Desktop," but not with other virtual desktops or apps, then the issue should be escalated to the College of Engineering.

 

Index

Windows

  1.  Remove Account
    • Open Workspace   
    • Select the menu option at the top right of the workspace window and select "Accounts"
    • Select any existing stores and select Remove.
    • Confirm the removal process. No applications are removed.
    • You can now add a new account by clicking the add button and then following the instructions on this page: Citrix Workspace Installation on Windows.
  2. Reset Workspace
    In some cases you are not able to remove the account or it doesn't fix the issue. Reset Workspace can provide a more thorough cleanup.
    1. Right click the workspace icon in the notifications area (it may be hidden and can be found by pressing the arrow icon bottom right corner of screen) and select "Advanced Preferences."
    2. In the Advanced Preferences window, select "Reset Citrix Workspace."
    3. You will be prompted to confirm whether or not you want to reset the workspace. Select Yes.
    4. You should then be at the Add Account Screen and can follow the instructions in this article: Citrix Workspace Installation on Windows.
  3. If the Reset for the workspace does not solve your problem: 
    1. Uninstall the Citrix Workspace
    2. Download this utility: https://oregonstate.box.com/s/e1opuhpy95ewfe1e1c1xgy2wl9cv9u68 
    3. Extract the Utility and run it.
    4. Then Reinstall the latest Citrix Workspace: https://Workspace.citrix.com/

MacOS/Linux 

The process for troubleshooting Linux won't look exactly the same but you should still be able to remove and add accounts.

  1. Remove Account:
    1. Open Citrix Workspace and select the menu option at the top right of the workspace window then select preferences
    2. Select the accounts tab and then under edit accounts there should be a primary store account.
    3. Go ahead and select any existing stores and remove them by pressing the minus button.
    4. Confirm the removal process. No applications are removed.
    5. You can now add a new account by clicking the plus button. 
    6. Follow the instructions on this page to add a new account: Citrix WorkSpace Installation on Mac.
  2. If the Removal and adding of account for workspace does not solve your problem: 
    1. Uninstall the Citrix Workspace
    2. Download this utility: https://oregonstate.box.com/s/e1opuhpy95ewfe1e1c1xgy2wl9cv9u68 
    3. Extract the Utility and run it.
    4. Then Reinstall the latest Citrix Workspace: https://Workspace.citrix.com/

IOS

  1. Remove and Add Account
    1. In Workspace, click the user icon on the top left. This will give you a list of accounts.
    2. Click the Information icon to the right of "Store"
    3. Click delete Account
       
    4. Then add a new account by following the instructions on this page: Citrix WorkSpace Installation on iOS
