ONID Login Help

Issue/Question

• I can't log into my ONID account
• I can't log in even though my username and password are correct

Environment

• Oregon State
  • Employee or Student
    • ONID account

Resolution

Make sure your credentials are correct

1. Your ONID username generally follows the form of "LastnameFirstInitial" (e.g. if your name was Jane Doe, your username would likely be "doej" or similar).
   • If you have forgotten you ONID username, Contact the IS Service Desk. 
   • If you do not have an ONID account, follow the ONID Sign-Up Instructions.
2. Make sure you are using the correct password and entering it correctly.
   • If you need to change your password, please see How to Change Your ONID Password.

Clear your browser's cookies/cache

• Sometimes, a browser will hold on to out-dated login information and cause problems with logging in. Clearing your browser's cookies and/or cache can sometimes solve login problems, especially if you had recently changed your information (i.e. changed your password). Here are instructions for the main browsers:
  • Chrome
  • FireFox
  • Internet Explorer
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari
  • If your browser is not on this list, a quick Internet search for "Clearing cache in [Browser Name]" should result in instructions.
