- How do I export items in Outlook to a file?

Explanation
Sometimes it is useful to backup mailbox items to a file, for example when archiving off items from a mailbox that is about to be deleted.
To free up space in your mailbox, it is recommended that you use the Online Archive instead of offline files. Offline files may not be backed up and can become corrupted.
Resolution
Note that it is not possible to export to a file from Outlook on the Web.
