Using Zoom Video in the Classroom

Issue/Question

  • How to use the installed classroom camera in Zoom

Environment

  • Oregon State
    • Instructor

Resolution

1. Once you've started the Zoom session, click the VIDEO CAMERA button to turn on your video.

2. Use the UP-Carrot on the Video Camera icon to select the installed video camera using the source name USB CAPTURE SDI in most classrooms.

Note: Camera source names in Zoom can vary by classroom, so we recommend testing and verifying your source selections.

3. You should now see the installed video camera image appear in Zoom.

  • This camera focuses on the front of the classroom and can be adjusted using the remote control at the teaching station.

4. Lastly, check with your remote students to ensure that they can see you.

Consult the following tutorial for a video demonstrating these functions.
