Exchange - Distribution List Rejects Messages from External Senders

  • My distribution list is unable to receive messages from external senders.

Explanation

By default, new distribution lists are configured with a setting requiring all senders to authenticate. In practice, this means that an Exchange distribution list will reject messages from anyone outside of OSU's Exchange instance.

Resolution

Contact your IT team to remove the setting from your distribution list.
