Here are the most common calendar permission levels and what they provide:
- None: no permissions
- Can View when I'm Busy: also known as "free/busy" or "Can view when I'm busy" - this is the default setting for OSU Exchange calendars
- Can View Titles and Locations: can view titles and locations only
- Can View all Details: can view all details of your Calendar
- Can Edit: can view, create and edit
Please follow the steps from Microsoft to update your calendar permissions in Outlook
To request permission changes to a shared department calendar, please submit the form to Grant Access to a Resource.
For details on how to access a shared calendar, see: Access Shared Calendar
For known issues with accessing a shared calendar on a Mac, see: Outlook on Mac - Adding an Additional Exchange Calendar
In addition to the above calendar permissions, some shared or room calendars have a "Scheduler" group where only people with "Scheduler" access can book the calendar. However, most calendars are set without a Scheduler group and will auto-accept invites instead.
