Issue/Question
- Can I create a custom list of IDs or ONIDS in CORE?
- What are the limitations on custom lists in CORE?
- Does the custom user list have a limit of 1000's ID like other CORE reports?
Explanation
Users can create and use custom lists of OSU IDs and ONIDs to use in certain CORE reports:
- STU2561
- STU2562
- STU2563
- STU2564
- STU2565
- STU1002
- STU1003
You can set an expiration date for a list and allow people in your home organization to view and use your list. A couple things to note when using lists:
- The data type in the list must match the parameter you are using. For example, if you use a list of OSU IDs in an ONID parameter the report will not return anything.
- The type of data in the list must be the same. You cannot create a list of ONIDs and IDs for example.
- CORE reports can only take 1000 values at a time in a parameter. If your list has more than 1000 values in it, the report will not run.
Solution
Creating a new list:
- Select your name in the upper right hand corner of CORE
- Select "My Profile" from the drop down list
- On your profile, choose “New Custom List”
- Give the list a name and enter your values in your custom-list.
- Note: Enter each value on its own line. Do not enter a comma seperated list. CORE adds commas between the values based on line breaks. An easy way to do this is by copying and pasting the list from Excel.
- Note: If you select the check box for "Allow Home Org Access" then people in your home org can view the custom list. This is a good way to share a list with your team members if there is a need for people across your team to pull data on a set of students.
- Select "Save" to save your list
Once you’ve saved your list, you can view / edit as needed:
