Question

  • How do I enable extensions on Lab Computers?
  • How do I enable extensions on a computer using concurrent licensing?
  • Why am I getting a licensing error when I try to use certain ArcGIS extensions?

Environment

  • Oregon State University
  • Student, Employee or Associate
  • Lab Computer/Computer with concurrent licesning
  • ArcGIS

Resolution

ArcGIS Pro

1. Click on the 'project' button inside your ArcGIS project

2. Under the 'Licensing' tab, click on 'Configure your licensing options'

3. In the following window, click the checkbox next to the extensions you would like to use and then click 'OK'. You will then be able to use those extensions.

ArcGIS Desktop

  1. Open ArcGIS Administator.
  2. Under the "Desktop" folder, select "Borrow/Return".
  3. Select the number of days you would like to check-out the extension (max 30 days) and check the box next to the extension.
NOTE: With concurrnet licensing, some extensions are bundled under a different name. See here for the list of Solution Names and the features included.
  4. Click "Apply".
