Issue/Question
- How do I use Avaya One-X soft phone client through Citrix?
- I have a Mac and I can't install Avaya Soft Phone on my computer.
Environment
- Oregon State University
- Employee or Student Employee
- Soft Phone
- Any operating system
Explanation
Windows users can install the Avaya one-X software; using the software requires VPN as well.
For macOS and all other non-Windows computers, or for anyone who does not want to use the VPN, the Avaya one-X software is also available via our Citrix server. You only need an Internet connection and a web browser to use this option.
To follow these steps, you will need to ask Telecom to enable your OSU extension for soft phone access. For more information, see Soft Phones - About.
In addition, you will need to be granted access to the "Avaya one-X Communicator" app in Citrix.
Resolution
Note: you do not need to connect to the VPN to use either of the below methods.
Use the Avaya One-X App on Citrix
Note: this method may not work on macOS; see below for another method.
