Duo Setup Walkthrough
- Go to website: uit.oregonstate.edu/duo
- Click "Sign up for Duo."

- You will be directed to the OSU sign-in page. Sign in with your ONID account.
- Click on "Sign-Up with a Mobile Device."

- Follow the instructions on-screen. If this is your first time signing up for Duo, click the green button that says, "Start Setup."

- If you do not have the Duo Mobile app installed, download it from your mobile phone's app store and open it. (The AppStore for iPhones, Google's Play Store for Android phones.)
If you have installed the Duo Mobile app already, skip to Step 9.

- Once the app is downloaded, open it. You may see a "Welcome to Duo Security" screen, hit continue until you see the screen below.

- Go back to the Duo setup page you were at in Step 6.
- Click on "I have Duo Mobile."
- Continue to follow the instructions on-screen. You may be asked to allow Duo to use your camera. If so, allow Duo to use your camera. This is so the Duo Mobile app can scan a QR code.
- If using you're using the duo.oregonstate.edu website on your phone, click on "Take me to Duo Mobile." Approve the pop-up if one shows up.
If you're using the duo.oregonstate.edu website on a computer, either scan the QR code from within the duo app on your phone or click on the email activation link send to your email and allow it to open Duo Mobile, depending on the option you choose.
- "Oregon State University" should automatically add itself to your Duo application. You may need to close and restart the duo app in order for it to appear (see "Troubleshooting" section at the bottom of this page for more info). You may also be asked to name the account. After you see the account in the Duo app, go back to the Duo web page.

- Click on "Continue."

- Choose if you want Duo to automatically send you pushes or not, then click "Continue to Login."

- The following screen should display. Important: you must click "Send Me a Push" or "Enter a Passcode" on this screen to complete the device activation. You are not done registering until you see the "Sign up is complete" message

- After completing the login with Duo, the webpage will update to indicate that sign up is complete.

Troubleshooting
Duo freezes when scanning the QR Code
After you scan the QR code with the Duo Mobile app on your phone, you will see a check mark on the QR code on your screen. If the Duo Mobile app freezes, cancel the scan. Then use your computer to do the Duo push to complete setup.
Account not appearing in Duo app after clicking on email activation link or "take me to Duo Mobile" link.
After clicking on the email activation link or the "take me to Duo Mobile" link and approving the popup to open Duo Mobile, you may be brought back to the "Welcome to Duo Mobile" or "Add your account" screen. Completely close or restart the Duo Mobile app and after reopening, you should see the Oregon State University account. Please note, simply exiting the app will not work. If you're not sure how to close out of the app completely, restarting your phone should also resolve this issue.
