Zoom - Disable Meeting Chat Auto-Save

Cause/Explanation

By default Zoom user settings are set for meeting chat sessions to be automatically saved to the host's computer. This functionality can be disabled by a user for their account. This Knowledge Base article will cover the steps to disabling the auto-save functionality.

Resolution

Method 1

Sign in to Zoom at is.oregonstate.edu/zoom

  1. Once you've signed in to OSU Zoom, select Settings from the left side of the screen
  2. Select In Meeting (Basic)
  3. Locate the Auto Saving Chats and click the button to disable it (It will turn grey when disabled)
    Setting changes will automatically save, you can now close the Zoom website.
