Tableau - Reactivate, Deactivate or Install a License Key for Tableau Desktop - Windows and MacOS

Issue/Question

  • How do I reinstall a Tableau license key in Tableau Desktop or Tableau Prep Builder?

Environment

  • Oregon State University
  • Tableau
    • Tableau Desktop
    • Tableau Prep Builder

Resolution

  1. Select "File"
  2. In the File drop down select "Help"
  3. In the Help area select "Manage Product Keys"
  4. In the pop-up window that appears enter your Tableau license key
    1. Note: If you are installing a new license key you will need to deactivate the old key first
