Gradescope: Student View for Instructors

  • How can I, as the instructor, see the student view of Gradescope assignments?

Resolution/Answer

The best way for instructors to see the student view of Gradescope is to use an alternative email address that they can access (i.e. a personal email address) to add themselves to the course roster.

Notes: 

  1. This student account won't be linked to Canvas, so the instructor would need to log in to that student account via gradescope.com.
  2. Instructors will only be able to see the student view of released assignments; for this reason, we recommend creating your assignment in a 'dummy' Gradescope course and copying it over to the real course once it's ready to be released to students.
