Canvas: Bulk Delete Canvas Sandbox sites (formerly Studio sites)

Overview

Canvas is Oregon State University's Learning Management System. OSU re-branded Sandbox sites in June 2024; prior to that they were known as Studio sites.

An owner of a Canvas Sandbox site can delete the Sandbox site if they no longer want the Sandbox site to appear in their list of courses. This action cannot be reversed and the site data cannot be recovered once the Sandbox site is deleted.  It is strongly recommended that you download an export of the site content before deleting if you wish to retain the content.  You will be asked for confirmation twice to ensure this is not done accidentally.

Delete a Sandbox Site

1. Log into Canvas at http://canvas.oregonstate.edu
2. Click the Account button in the upper-left corner of the Canvas screen
3. Click the My Sandbox Sites link in the fly-out menu that appears
4. Click Delete Sandbox site(s)
5. Mark the check box next to each Sandbox site you want to delete
6. Scroll to the bottom of the list and click Delete selected Sandbox sites
7. Click Next in the pop-out window
8. Click Delete in the pop-out window to onfirm that you want to delete the Sandbox site(s). This is the final click before the Sandbox site(s) and all content in the site(s) are deleted. 

You should receive a message confirming the transfer was successful.
